THE SHOWS and THE COMMENTS
« on: March 18, 2014, 03:46:32 PM »
Back at the start of this forum, I tried to keep it away from the comments on or about the shows because it always seems that there is some kind of disagreement over something (amount of carving, painting, material,..........)  But over time I changed my view because the number of friendships that come out of shows far outweighs the bickering.  As I have always said, anytime you try to wrap rules around an art or hobby, somebody is going to disagree.  I think we just need to step back and realize the rules are set by someone who is doing what they think is right and we just need to play by the rules.  I don't like the targeting flag in NCAA football but it does me no good them get in an argument about it.

I don't have an issue with people "discussing" things they disagree on (even a little heat is ok) but just remember we don't get personal in the discussions around here.  Also, the mods and I are members here first and mods 2nd so if a Mod or I disagree with you on something it is not an abuse of mod powers.  I have asked the mod to make sure things stay civil and to delete or lock anything that is getting out of hand.  It is a judgment call on their part and in my view they have done an outstanding job.

I said all that to really say - KEEP IT FUN!!  That is why we are all here
I'm not a great carver but I play one on the internet.  :)
