Well it was not the best day but we did shoot a few. I refuse to camp to get a spot so the places I normally hunt were covered up. Had a hen can sit down next to my foam and cork cans. She must have liked them because she did not want to leave even when my partner was walking back from picking up a bird. I may have to try the spot again later in the season because there seemed to be a decent number of birds working the back of the cove. You just cannot tell how the birds are going to pattern when they are being shot at from every point and island.
Day 2 was a bust. We were hunting a cove that was a favorite of ours a long time ago but it just did not have birds working it. We had some "hunters" come in behind us and set up less than 100 yrds away. We ended up moving a little to get away from them but we just did not see many birds and did not fire a shot.
