August Workbench

Technically did this in July (last night), but it's on the bench today  ;)
Still trying to rid myself of the last of my Black Cork. I've got five more of these (Brant), and three Scoters cut out. Once finished, my Black Cork carving days will be permanently behind me.
Tail and bottom boards are pine, head is paulownia...

I'll keep ya all posted on how it goes.

Have you been working in a coal mine??  Dang, that stuff is dirty.  That's a nice bird though, I like it.

George Williams has a PILE O WOODY'S on his bench this month. His words, "only 25 drake woodies and one hen.. HELP! I seem to have become obsessed by pretty colors!"..

Well, Rob offered--got the spots on chests done along with the white face markings--just head lines and bill left!
Already have a call for two more hens!! Just what i wanted, more #$@#$ woodies. ;D ::)
Rob, glad you are doing a smallish tail on that bsc brant--Now, just address the thought that the back third of the deke is white, and adjust the space from flank to side--Saves on the other paint, too, AND, really flashes on the warer, something I have noted over the years.
I bootyume you are making pacifics? ;)

I have been out of town a lot lately.
I got to teach teal painting 101 this week to a hunting partner in Ohio. Was a good time. I repainted one of my rig and he followed along on his first all wood bird.

Terrible part is that's between 1/4 and 1/3 of the brushes I own. Didn't want to bring them all down with me...  ;D
