Let?s See Them Work (Decoy Pictures)

Ok everyone it is time for the next event at WorkingDecoys.Net.

This one is going to be a little longer than the past events.  We are going to have a photo contest of decoys doing what they were made to do.  We will run this event until January 31, 2010 (the full season) so everyone can enter as many photos as you feel like.  The only rules are the decoys have to be handmade or hand molded (no production decoys) .  The photos can be of the decoy on the water or posed (bird draped over it, next to a clbootyic boat, next to gun,?. You get the idea).  We will be collecting prizes for 1st through 3rd.

Also, we plan on using the photos to make a 2010 WorkingDecoys.Net calendar so the more we have to choose from the better.  We will be putting the calendar together in December so make sure you get the pictures posted early.

Great idea.. I look forward to entering and seeing everyones picks.

I have one question... I have a couple E. Allens that I modified and painted myself.. those count if they are in the spread?

I know this has some production dekes in it, but in a few weeks those won't be in the spread... I might have to bring the big camera along and take some fancy shots! :)

I'm not going to be a hard case on the decoys, just did not want a bunch of photos of the true production plastics.  We are going to have a vote of some sort to pick the winners.

Feel free to post any "so so", good, great decoy photos you take, we want to see them.  However, to win 1st - 3rd, they need to be "hand" made / painted.  So you can post pictures of plastics, they just can't win.

Also, there is no rule that says the photo has to be from the 2009/2010 season.  If you have photos from past years, post them up!!!

Examples:

Corker - can win (if it was not mine  ::))

Plastics - can't win but is a cool photo that people might want to see.

PS - make sure they are your own photos because we may use them in the calendar and don't want any copywrite issues.  Also, by posting them here, we will consider it your permission to use the photo in the calendar.

Just don't shoot one of the decoys.   I clipped a wooden can one year and WOW did he give me h%ll.  Then he sent me a pic last year around Dec of one of my buffies with a pellet right between the eyes.  Guess we're even now :D :D

Let me set the story right. Blue bills come in, we dump three. I got a cripple swimming, and I am out of shells. I say shoot it. Remember we dumped blue bills. Scott R shoots my only surving drake can square in the head. I yell not that one. Shoot the duck. He shot the SAME DECOY again. It was 15-20 yards from the cripple that YES did get away. I was speachless. Lucky his little buffy only got one pelet between the eys. My can looks like it got in a fight with a porcupine. I owe him another shot on that buffy.
