Another Bandsaw Question
« on: April 27, 2017, 02:17:06 PM »
I've been working towards replacing my old 12" bandsaw with a new 14" model. I've been leaning towards the Grizzly 555 Deluxe or Ultimate, either  with the 6" riser. $700+ delivered.

Now the local specialty woodworking supply store is advertising the Rikon 10-324, 14", 1.5hp, with 13" resaw capacity for $699. Freight may be extra and may be a deal breaker for me.

My question, does anyone here have experience with the Rikon bandsaw. I understand Rikon has made improvements since they sold their first models some 10+ years back.

Thanks
Tony

Tony,I just bought a rikon 10-326 this past janurary.I cut out about six decoy with it.I had a 14" Porter cable and this saw is so much better made,a lot more power. So far I love it,If you move your saw around a lot the mobility kit they sell with the saw is great also.

I bought the Rikon 10-324. It took me about 3 hrs by myself to bootyemble and tune. Good tools make a world of difference, even with some operator error and readjustment, I was able to mill some chunks and cutout a pair of decoys in no time.

Thank you. I swapped the factory blade for a Timber  Wolf yesterday, even better performance. Now all I need is more practice to get used to the new saw.
