I got tired of the paint rubbing off my tails, so I'm trying something different. I cut 6" x6" squares of closed cell foam from a caming sleeping pad (the blue ones at walmart for next to nothing. So far I'm very happy. The bag will now stand up empty or with a full load of decoys, and if it blows out of the boat, it will float! Time will tell how well it protects the paint, however. It's got to be better than just beating against that cloth on the deck of the boat.

I've only got one right now and it's from Diane. With my latest flurry of carving, however, I am back in the market for another. I am thinking maybe a David Clark next, or trying to sweet talk my mom into making my birthday present!

I don't know, I've had this one for a while. You can get some of hers straight off Ebay, though.

Ed, She'll ship (they make a small package all folded up) I'll try and get somebody with some camera and posting experience to help with a pic
I just got (a couple weeks back) two bags....each a six slot in-line so I can put them along the side of the boat and maximize room....and sunbrella is awesome stuff....

Boy, you're not kidding! I sent for some samples from WWW.fabricscentral.com (I'm not affiliated with them, but they offered the samples) and that stuff is like flexible armor! From what I read, it is also impervious to UV, and depending on the weight of the fabric, waterproof as well! I'm going to be purchasing a bunch of it to make a light-tight canopy for my portable ice shanty!

I rubbed the stew out of couple of tails this year so I need to do something with my bags. I do try to use a color on the wear areas that I don't have to mix to keep touching up simple though.

I've thought about carrying black nail polish. Doesn't weigh anything and would be great for touching up little wear spots. I figure from a distance black would probably be less vissable. Most of my wear was on the bills though as the tails are basically just white paint over white primer over grey apoxy sculpt. I also have gotten wear on the backs f heads and wing tips, etc. All spots that a little black covers nicely. I definately advise using the Apoxy Sculpt as a few of my tails from last years foamers are totally thread bare. Some soft foam in the bottom of the bag sounds liek a great idea.
