I have been pondering makign or buying a hot wire foam cutter to use with jigs for cutting out the ruff shapes of my decoys. being a sub par carver, i need any help that i can get! i also dont like coming into the house ( and getting yelled at ) with a bunch of white stuff all over me! so i was thinking of setting up some kind of jig system for the top and sides, using something like this

and adjusting it to be a wider, as it is only 4 1/2" wide. it would need to be wide enough to cut the whole top off, and then the sides also.

does anyone have any experience with making a hot wire cutter? or would it be worth my while to just buy one? there is also this one

which is more like a band saw. any advice is welcome, schematics and electrical diagrams would be great! lol
